For over 230 years P.J. Valckenberg has discovered extraordinary German Estates and act as an ambassador of their wines. The Valckenberg Varietals represent authentic and typical german wines. In the mid 20th century, many new grape crossings were established to withstand the cold, harsh climate of Germany. Dornfelder is one such crossing that offers deeply pigmented wine for use in blending (particularly with Pinot Noir) or as a varietal expression. Notes of sweet fruits and cherry lead into a velvety, full-bodied and juicy wine with a sweet, lingering finish.
