Germany is seeing a growth in its acclaim for Pinot Noir. As the global climate changes, outlier areas for viticulture such as the chilly slopes of Germany are crossing certain thresholds taking previously unripe varieties towards elegant perfection. The biodynamic estate from winemaker Alex Pflüger cultivates on 40 hectares the best vineyard sites of the wine region Palatine. The single vineyard Ölberg from the village of Königsbach has southeastern slope of mixed red sandstone, marl limestone and rubble. The wine is aged for 14 months in a combination of new and used French barrique.
